| Richard Yu, MD, PhD Richard Yu, MD, PhD is an Instructor in Surgery (Urology) at Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. His current interests are in translational basic and clinical research designed to address key clinical questions in pediatric urology. Dr. Yu's laboratory is currently investigating the feasibility of pre-pubertal testicular germ cell preservation for patients at risk for germ cell loss secondary to radiation or chemotherapeutic agents as standard clinical practice. Clinical trials of current and promising cryopreservation methodology are being performed. His work in this area focuses on identifying methods for restoration of spermatogenesis. In addition, he has several clinical research projects designed to identify both clinical and psychosocial barriers to sperm banking in adolescent cancer patients. | | | |
